    SIMAA refers to SIM Accounting Association. It is an association that is run entirely by students on a voluntary basis.
  • When was SIMAA established?
    SIMAA was established in 2011.
  • What does SIMAA do?
    SIMAA actively seek out opportunities to collaborate with professional institutions so as to provide the greatest amount of exposure and networking opportunities for its members.
  • Who are the collaborators that SIMAA worked with?
    Singapore Accountancy Commission (SAC), CPA Australia, Empact Pte Ltd, ICAEW. SIMAA has also collaborated with notable accounting firms such as PWC Singapore and Grant Thornton Singapore in the past, for our accounting challenge.
  • How can I view the organisation chart of SIMAA?
    Head to our website (www.sim-aa.net), under “About us”, click on “structure”.
  • What will I benefit as a sub-committee?
    Exclusive events just for sub-committee members, part of the organizing team for various SIMAA events and enrichment to student life, most importantly, expanding your network and making more friends.
  • When is the sub-committee recruitment?

  • What qualities are required of a sub-committee?
    Committed, responsible, initiative, willing to learn, accountability.
  • What is the dress-code for sub-committees during SIMAA events?
    Formal (dress for female is fine, no jeans, spaghetti stripe, short skirt, tie and blazer)
  • How often do SIMAA hold their meetings?
    Usually during off-peak, it depends on each department (eg. once every fortnight) and during peak period, it could be once or twice weekly.
  • When does SIMAA hold their flagship event?
    Usually during January to February.
  • How do I become a subscriber of SIMAA’s mailing list?
    Head to our website, under the Membership tab, click on “Subscriber” and fill in the required information.
  • What is the difference between a Subscriber and Sub-committee Member?
    A subscriber will be receiving updates regarding new events via email and it is open to all SIM students (No meetings required). However, a sub-committee member will be part of the organising team for all events organised by SIMAA and will be able to gain greater exposure and networking opportunities. (Meetings are usually held once in two weeks.)
